The Gabriola Vegeteers are working with the Gabriola Arts Council to make the Gabriola Music Festival vegan! We have some amazing vegan food vendors coming to the Gabriola Music Festival: The Very Good Butchers, The Bandwagon Food Truck, Accidental Carny Concession, The Vegan Bite, Earth Mama Love Kitchen Collective, and Fox On An Island. Vesanto Melina of “Becoming Vegan” is giving two health presentations, we’re screening two documentaries (Called to Rescue and Animals and the Buddha), AND Earth Mama Love Kitchen is giving a food demo on each day! That doesn’t even begin to talk about the music and all the other fabulous and artsy things going on! Get your tickets soon!

Excerpt from

This festival celebrates community, love, compassion, inclusivity, and mindfulness. There is no better place for it than standing on a rock in the ocean, surrounded by good people, good music, good vibes, and more art than you can imagine.

  • With this celebration of creative culture, we want to make some promises.
  • We promise to enrich the lives of those participating in and enjoying this festival, through the arts.
  • We promise to artistically inspire, entertain, enhance, and invigorate our community and those who visit it.
  • We promise to promote inclusivity both onstage and off.
  • We promise to take care of all fellow beings and not support animal suffering in any way.
  • We promise to promote empathy, compassion, happiness, and a healthy spirit. We promise to maintain this mindful abundance of love, and be with all, in the present.

Documentary Screenings in The Roxy
Come on down to the music fest early, find a good spot for your blanket, and head to the funky Roxy Theatre to watch a short inspiring documentary with your morning coffee while the vendors and musicians set up for the day!

Called to Rescue – Saturday at 10am
Called To Rescue is a beautiful documentary film about some of the animals who live in farm sanctuaries and the people who have dedicated their lives to rescuing and caring for them. It will inspire and delight people of all ages and stages.

Animals and the Buddha – Sunday at 10am
The powerful and important film, Animals and the Buddha, brings awareness to the idea that the path to end all suffering includes not just humans, but all the beings who share the earth. Many Buddhist leaders lend their voices to advocate for animals in this moving film..
