While animal activists are fighting the consumption of animals raised for food in American culture, others are winning battles overseas. In Defense of Animals announced that its campaign for the Moran Livestock Association in Seongnam, South Korea, to stop slaughtering and selling dogs for their meat has been met with success. As of this week, the country’s biggest supplier of dog meat – killing over 80,000 dogs each year – has decided to discontinue the practice.
